Selic at 15%: How to Take Advantage of Fixed Income in 2026

Why Fixed Income is the Star of 2026

Brazil has the second highest real interest rate in the world, surpassed only by Turkey. With the Selic at 15% per year, fixed income investments offer returns that significantly exceed the projected inflation of 4%.

This means that, in real terms, your money can yield about 11% per year above inflation. A rare opportunity that deserves attention.

Where to Invest

Tesouro Selic

The classic choice for an emergency fund. It yields nearly 100% of the Selic with daily liquidity. Ideal for money you may need at any moment.

Post-fixed CDBs

Smaller banks offer CDBs paying 110% to 120% of the CDI. With FGC protection up to R$ 250,000 (~$50,000), they are a safe option for terms of 1 to 3 years.

Tesouro IPCA+

For those thinking long-term (5+ years), Tesouro IPCA+ guarantees inflation plus a real rate. With current rates above IPCA + 7%, it is one of the best opportunities in recent history.

LCIs and LCAs

Real Estate Credit Letters and Agribusiness Credit Letters are exempt from Income Tax for individuals. An LCI paying 95% of the CDI is equivalent to a CDB of ~113% of the CDI in net terms.

The Future Axis in the ADXIS Method

In the 50/30/20 method, the Future axis represents 20% of your income allocated to building wealth. Investing is not about saving what’s left over — it’s a conscious decision to protect your future.

The ADXIS method treats investment as wealth building, not as an expense. Each contribution is a transfer to the Future axis, integrated into your financial plan.

What It Yields in Practice

If you invest R$ 500 per month in Tesouro Selic throughout 2026:

  • In 12 months: approximately R$ 6,450 (~$1,290) (R$ 450 of earnings)
  • In 5 years (maintaining the pace): over R$ 40,000 (~$8,000) with compound interest

The first step is to define how much goes to the Future axis. The second is to automate. The third is to leave it alone.
